About the Author

Nick Orsini was born into this world in the year of our Lord, 1986. That makes him 25. He has written mostly for fun for most of his life. From his high school literary journal to his college pop culture rag, his writings have been strewn about.

Speaking of college, he graduated in May 2008 with a Communications: Radio/TV/Film degree from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY. After graduating he worked in a NYC post-production vault (laid off in the New Recession), then he dispatched limousines, then he made a triumphant return to NYC advertising (the most stressful 2 years of his life. Many nights yelling and stomping about).

In the May of 2008, after graduating, he began to type out the story that had been swimming laps in his brain since mid-2002. Those ramblings became Two Wrongs Make a Vice, his first novel.

Nick also runs AdorkableLife , a collection of poetry. The site is updated with a new poem, letter, or piece of creative work at least once a day. AdorkableLife also serves as a vehicle for Nick to answer all questions relating to writing, not being able to find the right job, not being able to find the right guy or girl, or how to do one of the most important things we as young people must learn how to do: Stay positive.

He currently resides in northern New Jersey. Nick’s inspirations include, mainly, Hunter S. Thompson…the man responsible for sparking the desire to write with purpose and immediacy.

He plays guitar poorly, still watches a ton of movies in his free time, doesn’t mind his bus commute, and hopes that one day, he’ll get to use his writing as a vehicle to meet young people from across the United States …then, maybe if he’s lucky…around the world. He wears Sambas to help his lack of foot arches. He has (almost) never turned down a Facebook friend request. He’s grateful for everyone who’s read anything he’s ever done.

  1. hello,
i took a break from tumblr for the summer and came back to see your adorkablelife account following me… i’m just looking at your stuff now and i must say i’m impressed! i rarely meet other people who are young and have the goal to write novels and work in the literary world. so it was really nice to see you on here and i just thought i’d say so. :)

  2. hello! you came to speak to my creative writing class today. It was really great getting the perspective of a young writer. As a young, aspiring writer, i usually face problems when writing such as my chapters being disorganized, writers block and possibly writing too much. Any suggestions? Thank you for coming in today, you really helped me in realizing the steps to finishing a novel and getting it published. I’m really excited to purchase your novel, I’ll probably be searching for it at the local fine grind this weekend :)

    • Hi! So thanks so much, first of all, for being such an amazing audience today. You guys were really fun to talk to, and I was so happy to get the opportunity to speak to you. I guess, as far as organization goes, don’t be afraid to edit things down. Maybe you’re writing a ton of dialogue, when your character can say the same thing in less words. If you’re writing about a setting or describing it, pick and choose your words carefully. The best novels, things like Catcher in the Rye and the Great Gatsby, when you look at them, are actually pretty short works. Thanks for checking out my book! – N
